- Installation Notes: Do not use Teflon tape or strings on thermostats or adapters. The thermostat must grind the threads to the engine, and the engine must be grounded. Install the thermostat into the header or intake manifold. Connect the black wire to the thermostat, cut to length. Crimp the red terminal over the black wire and connect to the thermostat. Connect the red wire to the fan + terminal or power wire from the print to the fan motor. Install the circuit breaker close to the power source. Use the small yellow loop end to cut to length and install. Connect the brown wire to the ignition switch or fan switch.
